2020 Demoreel

Category,

Here is my 2020 2D Artist demoreel, including most of the jobs I was fortunate enough to have worked on from 2019 to 2020 at The Mill (London) as well as a personal project.

Check out the breakdown of the shots below!

HBO’s Watchmen

Credited as a 2D artist, I was responsible for general plate preparation/clean-up, keying and producing basic composites across six episodes out of nine of the whole series.

At this very point in time, I was very new to compositing so I started with small tasks. These included removing props / unwanted objects, rotoscoping and keying out subjects from green / blue-screens.

The further the project went on, I started to get the hang of it so I was assigned more complex plate prep as well as basic composites.

The stills below are of a few shots I worked on.
-) Blue screen keying of subject and integration with background plate.
-) CG catapult integration with the on-set prop.
-) CG sword integration and comp.
-) C-stands / ref material clean-up from the set for CG integration.
-) C-stands clean-up over the subject for CG integration.
-) Green screen keying and roto of the subject in front of a green-screen for integration in a CG scene.

McDonald’s: We See You

On this job, I was responsible for some compositing and clean-up
-) Alarm time cleaned-up and substituted with 2D replacement.
-) Clean-up of subject and comp of shadow and various elements.
-) Integration of CG playing cards with correct interaction.

Automotive Integration: Personal Project

The idea behind this project was to exercise my compositing skills in Nuke. Specifically looking at the world through a camera lens, creating a pipeline for correct lens distortion workflow, as well as using various passes to add grunge, texture and realism to the vehicle.

I teamed up with a friend of mine, who took care of the CG aspect of the project (check out his work).

If you are interested, have a read of the post below, where I outline the methods I used to generate and integrate some texture onto the car, adding some realism to it.
